Operations Lead - Logistics & Trade Compliance Coordinator

DropLabs is seeking a dynamic individual to support all domestic and international transportation, shipping, receiving, and distribution within a fledgling, Asia-based, outsourced supply chain. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, well rounded individual able to multitask and proactively interact with both external partners (contract manufacturers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs) and internal teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and the CEO). The position is hands-on, requiring active participation in logistics planning, order management and execution, management and communication of delivery commitments to customers, and invoicing and payment processing. This individual will play a critical role in enabling the cross-functional teams to move fast and succeed. The candidate is a self- starter, well organized, insightful and able to identify, assess, and solve problems to respond to the growing needs of business and increase the efficiency of the entire supply chain. Past experience with start-ups and multifaceted logistics and distribution environments is a plus.

  • 2+ years experience within international shipping and receiving environments
  • Familiarity with FedEx, DHL, UPS and other couriers
  • Experience in preparing shipments for exports via third party forwarders
  • Organized and able to work well against deadlines
  • Experience adapting to challenges, providing support, and guiding communications in a constantly changing environment
  • Able to multitask and assist multiple departments with shipping needs
  • Able to maintain flexible hours
  • Able to communicate via internal company resources and communication tools
  • Proactive in identifying and communicating solutions and improvements
  • Familiarity with HS codes and awareness of ECCN
  • Experienced in using Excel to drive data
  • Exposure to consumer electronics and hardware supply chains preferred, but not a must.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and engineering teams to streamline operational processes
  • Engage suppliers and forwarders to establish, manage and oversee import/export lanes, costs, and transit times
  • Manage and serve as primary point of contact with outsourced warehouse (3PL)
  • Liaise with marketing, sales and fulfilment partners to execute against focused, time sensitive distribution deadlines
  • Perform supply/demand matching function and order execution utilizing company’s ERP
  • Set delivery commitments to customers, managing exceptions as needed
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payment processing
  • Establish and manage RMA process with Finance and 3PL
  • Develop and review logistics cost models
  • Draft end to end operational SOPs to manage and grow the supply chain
  • Own daily operational success metrics. Monitor, manage, and provide visibility to internal team
  • Work with outside counsel, trade compliance experts to validate import details and help the business evaluate import/export compliance and risk
  • Capture and maintain logistics & trade data
